No time for Dr Who, really not my thing. Shame is that people are prepared to watch mindless gameshows and of course those dramas that seem to have been conceived on the back of a postage stamp.

So much of it is uninspired drivel comprised of boring static shot after static shot, for godsake MOVE THE CAMERA and put some effort in. The level of quality between the decent american dramas and the UK ones is absolutely huge and then when the UK does get good ones on the go they fall apart due to short contracts (This Life) or get trashed in the ratings by something vapid like Pop Idol (as in the case of North Square) leaving room for effortless filler such as Teachers and Pint of Larger and a Packet of re-worked jokes from the 70's.

Dire.

Planet Earth should have won an award, really. Glad they're reshowing it.

I agree with David Attenborough getting the lifetime award too, and I loved this series of Dr Who even more than the last one. It's had so many viewers that it's not surprising that it won. Robin Hood just can't match it.

TV Contender. All the nominees should be boiled in oil as far as I'm concerned, they're all losers whether they win or not...

And Hedfix, it was an awards ceremony for British viewers, so most of them are going to prefer British programmes. I've never seen a US documentary or factual programme that beats the UK stuff, the series and comedy programmes are very strong, though, but Dr Who beats any similar US series IMHO.

And the categories are narrow enough that many of the programmes are UK only anyway, bar best comedy and best series, which had US nominations anyway...

Bah! From a skim-read I take it it's 'British people only' then.

Brotherhood, Grey's Anatomy (my secret shame :D ), The Sopranos, 24, hell even The Evidence is at-least watchable next to all this crap that's somehowe managed to win awards.

Criminal Minds, The Shield...
