In ye good olde days everything was 320*240, most gamers didn't use the word framerate and things were hurtling along. Now gamers want higher reoloutions, 60fps, more detailed textures AND a higher polygon count. This means that games appear to be improving more slowly whilst demanding much higher specs.
Fortunatley consoles will not be so badly affected as they have already reached the maximum resoloution and framerate a TV can support (640*480 looking much better on a TV than PC monitor).
Do you think this will lead to console games being MUCH more advanced in terms of appearance and leaps than PC games or do you just think that people will demand a system to remove the jagged edges on their PC monitor and settle around 800*600?
