I'm off into Leeds later on to help a mate with some last minute Christmas shopping. Yeah, it will be absolutely packed to bursting - which probably will not be too great, but should be funny watching deadbeat dads running about trying to get the last action man.

I have a £10 book token (got it for my Business studies prize thing) but I'm not much of a book person, I never seem to have time to read. So tell me a few decent books that are out at the moment and we'll see what I can salvage in the Christmas rush.

Beckham annoys me and the book is more than likely written in crayons.

I am considering a Michael Moore book, or perhaps another piece of Bryson's.

Then again I could get the Guiness world records book instead.

It's about a guy named after a swimming pool, and follows his life. I've only read a few chapters on the train back home, but it seems okay. Awfully short chapters though, not that it makes a difference.

I'm not a big fan of Michael Moore's latest. Sure, I laugh in bits, feel infuriated in bits and patronised in others but... I've had that before. The older I get the less I care about him or his politics.

I would recommend Robert Ludlum. Great thriller spy crime thingies. Especially the Prometheus Deception.

Or John Grisham and his legal thrillers. Runaway Jury is my favourite but the Rainmaker, the Firm, the Partner and the Street Lawyer wer all good. The Summons was poor though.

Or if that sort of stuff just isn't your thing, Halo: The Fall Of Reach was good. Tells the story leading up to the game. I enjoyed it muchly.
