Basically I've been having constant error mesages that "So 'n so is corrupt, please use chkdsk." These were all for the same game

So I boot up chkdsk, it finds a load more faulty files with the game. After about 5 mins it finishes, yay, so I turn my pc off and head to bed. This morning I turned it on to find chkdsk finding more files, but it finds nigh on 1000 corrupt files which seemed to all be that of the game.

After chkdsk finishes it continues to load until it gets to the "Windows is starting up" screen when a box pops up, with the title "Isass.exe - system error" with the message "Insufficient resources exist to complete the API."

I click on OK and the PC restarts itself until it gets to the "Welcome" screen when the "Isass" box pops up and I have to click OK and the PC restarts etc etc.

I'm running XP and to sum it up, can anyone tell me whats wrong and what I can do to fix it?

Is this what your problem is?

It's a pretty long thread but it seems to reccommend repairing the install with your XP disc before you do anything drastic. MS's advice is apparently to install the latest hotfix: nice one guys, I see only one slight problem there.

Try the repair tools on the XP disc first.

Sorry fella, I don't know what else you could try. If you can afford to lose some stuff (unless you back-up regularly), just reinstall your entire system.

When in doubt, Fdisk! Works for me.

Wait till later today though, I'm sure someone else can shed some more light on your problem for ya!

I cant even get into it using Safe Mode.

I select safe mode and then loads of err... well

Multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0) partition(1)\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\xxx

with the xxx being the driver... I guess.

Err, any ideas?

Go in through Safe Mode and get rid of the game, clear up any outstanding corrupt files then try again.

I did a fresh reinstall when I came across that problem (can't remember which game it was though) and everything was sorted after that.

The game's Championship Manager (03/04)

But the main problem is that I cant even get to the desktop to remove it. It keeps restarting at the welcome screen after I've clicked on the box.

That sounds like a problem I have had before.

What game is it?

I know it sounds obvious, but have you tried a re-install of the game? Your installation might have been corrupted.
