If you’ve read my recent ‘Game Party’ review, you might get a feeling of déjà vu. This game wasn’t made to be a concoction of “cheesy music with devastatingly simple games sprinkled with boredom” but sadly, the finished product is all of them things, and more. Developed by TT Fusion, a branch of TT Games (a company which I had honestly never heard of), the game is hardly a roller coaster of fun.
The games are based around individual records. You can break these records by playing the games, and by breaking records, you can unlock more games to play. There are also leaderboards which you can try to top, although believe me, it doesn’t give much satisfaction.
If you don’t want to compete against friends and family, and want a bigger challenge, you can try and get into the ‘Wall of Shame’ (obviously not the real name) and upload your scores to the internet and see if you really are the world champion. The people will have their names listed in the Guinness World Records, for all the public to see.
Some may say “what a great idea”. It is quite, merging together a successful enterprise with a new one. Some may think “I fancy getting into the world records, and I can play games at the same time!”. Honestly though, It’s not getting in ‘The Book’ that matters, it’s what you’re in their for. You’ll probably be on the same page as the guy with the most pegs on his face. Congratulations.
The realism of the games is terrible. Some may presume this is to make it seem fun. One of the games for example is balancing a bus on your head for as long as possible (moving the remote about to keep it steady). Even the most imaginable kid will get bored of that, and realise how bad things have gotten.
This game is definitely not for the regular gamers, it’s not for serious gamers, and it’s not for kids (well not for long anyway). So who is it for?
