I have a PAL Gamecube (50mhz) and play many imported games (60mhz). My Hauppage (spelling) video card records fine at 50mhz but when tuned into NTSC the colours are terrible (picture is fine), even using the very variable colour/contrast adjustment etc the colours just fade in and out, so I have resorted to using black and white for now as colour NTSC videos just look awful.

Any ideas/suggestions ?

But more amusing is the fact that some people still manufacture them.

SVHS isnt supported by the cube!! Nintendo in their infinite wisdom did not even bother to inform third party periphal manufacturers of this minor fact so that at Gamecube launch there were actually third party SVHS adapters in shops that didnt work!!

thanks chaps, the card does handle NTSC and has options to tune various PAL and NTSC signals, Rob I thought your were right about converting 60mhz signal via a RF cable but borrowed a friends and it works fine (mine didn't). The card also has a input for SVHS so will have to try connecting up via a Cube to SVHS cable, tried Hauppauge (spelling) site, will phone them later.

Sounds like you're running the card out of spec, which means it probably doesn't support 60Hz.

BTW you have to use a SCART cable for 60Hz in my experience with TVs. I don't think coaxial can handle it.q

This is probably a daft suggestion; try checking the haupage website for bios updates for the card that might allow better NTSC handling by the card.

Either that or a driver update, try searching around for some tweaking programs if all else fails.

By the way is the card supposed to be able to handle NTSC?? If so then you might have a faulty card.
