Where I live, at the moment, it's cold, pitch black and raining. So as you can imagine, there aren't many people out and about.

About 30 minutes ago, there was a knock at our door. One single little girl, aged somewhere between 8 and 10 years old.

Carol singing.

Surely I'm not the only one who finds that INSANE behaviour on the part of the parents?

Well, it gets the kids out of the house for a couple of hours, I suppose... And that is something every parent seems to dream of when their-own are still so-young.

When I spoke to my mum the other day she was quite upset that Judge John Deed had been postponed for featuring 'inappropriate' material. I think that the BBC would have refused to broadcast your joke - but it made me laugh.

hahaha, i can't believe you fell for the oldest christmas-money-grabbing trick in the book, its nealy as old as the 'salvation army wanting money' trick.

All that happens is about 50 people go out carol singing and they send the youngest one to the door to sing whilst 49 hide behind walls and vegetation. if you pay out then, after closing the door the NEXT person in the 50-strong-throng knocks on your door. repeat 50 times.

either that or there are some really bad parents out there.
