I know many of you have stressful lives both work and personal.
What causes stress for you most of the time? and more importantly what do you do to release your stress?
I know for some it might be shopping or working out, but i would like as many answers as possible really.
Personally i don’t really have anything in my life that would cause stress, i do however play with a Beglari all the time which is a form of worry beads which are meant to take your mind off things, so that could in itself be keeping me relaxed.

1.Money (lack of) to pay the bills and give my family what they need/want.
2. Family - my parents and my wife not getting on means that I have to tiptoe between them to avoid conflict. It's like walking through a minefield.
3.Work - Reviews, objectives, performance related pay. Add to this the shifting dates of training in India, meaning that I can't make any plans for the next few months...
To escape the pressure of Stress I can escape into TV or Games for a bit. Not that I have much chance when the kids are around. Just playing with the children relieves the stress at times, though.

It's a pretty relaxing thing you kinda think about it but it's a lot like spinning a pen where you don't really focus on what you are doing, but pretty hard to explain what you do with it. you kind rotate it around your hand catching it with your fingers changing direction and speed, it looks pretty cool once you get the speed up a bit, it's also a good talking point i found on trains as i have had many people ask what it is and if i could show them how to do it.(i guess i show off a bit with it, although i have friends that are fantastic compared to me with it)
I do however enjoy repetitive tasks in general, but not pointless ones.(if something only needs doing once it just gets done that once)
I try to mask the stress by ignoring the fact that I have work to do. I play my playstation, watch DVDs and go to the gym which waste time that I could have used to do some work. The only real way to beat the stress in the long run is to actually do some work. Once I get the ball rolling and do a few report write ups I feel like a weight has been lifted.
In conclusion, Whatever is causing the stress needs to be combated directly, any method of masking the stress doesnt work for me.

What causes me stress? pfft too long a list ... what do I do to release it all ... too much of the time getting lashed up, not the best way cos you feel mightily stressed when you're hungover. Physical exercise is a great one ... lots of ... your body naturally creates mind calming chemicals when you're pushing yourself to the limit ... sweating. Natural highs are always best ...

Pfft, c'mon, everyone does, who are you, Buddha?

Might keep your mind occupied but I can't see how it would relieve stress. Maybe you're a person of habit like myself ... you find comfort in repetitive tasks .... ?
Personally I think the best stress reliever is loud music ... it's great at making you feel liberated ... that and having a good laugh with friends ... :)
