There appears to be a lot fewer movies that offer the same experience...
Which, given the mass market for movies appears to be a little odd...
Is it that people feel less inclined to admit when a movie has had a profound effect on their lives or beliefs?
Equally... (to get to the point of this discussion) what movies have had an effect on your life?
Star Wars? Its a Wonderful Life? Brazil?
Also... why do you think there is a stigma to admitting that a movie has had a prpofound effect on you... when admitting the same about a book or even a painting is somehow more valid?
i think theres still the snobbish mentality that films are not 'art' whereas books and painting are regarded as such, but these views are only held by the ignorant, i mean show anyone who can string a sentence of sense together 'Taxi Driver' and it will toutch them in places only film can toutch them, i would love to divulge more but my connection is about to be dis, but i agree with your point,
