The debate between which console is going to come out on top is now getting out of hand. Too many people are saying that Nintendo doesn't stand a chance against the PS2 or the Xbox or that the PS2 is going to come out on top because of the reputation of it's predecessor the Playstation.
If you look at the specification of the PS2 and the Dolphin you will find that they are pretty evenly matched but the Dolphin is faster and if people read the Xbox's specifications you will find that it may be faster than the PS2 and the Dolphin but it has not got the performance that the Dolphin and PS2 have so people should not even say that it will beat the Dolphin in the race for the best console.
In my opinion the Dreamcast and the Xbox are out of the equation and the Dolphin and the PS2 are the only two left in the race. With the reputation the N64 had a lot people will be routing for the PS2 but with the specifications that have been released so far i know a lot of people are changing from Sony to Nintendo but only time will tell the Winner until then we all must wait.

I'm sorry their mate but have you played a PS2 because i certainly have and what i think is the stupidest thing you said is that the specs don't matter, so your saying that if a console only had 16bit but was a clock speed of 500MHz it wouldn't matter it's the games that makes the console you say because now that the specs are better the games could be made larger and how do you know that the discs are easier to write for on the Xbox than the PS2 well your wrong because microsoft has not released any information saying this.

Rav your are saying that the games are more important than the consoles but if you think about it if you didn't have such a good console the games would not be as good as they are because they wouldn't be as big as they are nor would they be able to make them as exciting as they are because they would be too small to create some of the great games there are now in the world. So think before you talk Rav.

In this piece, Python says stuff like the Nintendo has a bad reputation due to the N64... and then says that PSX fans are going on the Dolphin. What the hell is this guy on about.
Anyway, Python says that the Ps2 and Dolphin are similarly matched... true. He then says that the Xbox is better (also true), but does not have the performance. WHAT?!?! Compared to the poor PS2 development problems, the Xbox is way way better in performance terms, as it is pi*s easy to program for. And as for the DC being out of the game- this is rubbish! The DC has FAR better games than the PS2, and the graphics on those games are far better. The only Ps2 games that are graphically better are ZOE (released end of year in Japan) and MGS2 (end of next year in Japan).
But the stupidest thing Python has said is that specs actually matter! They don't! The Ps2 specs beat the DC by miles, but it's so hard to program for that the games are rubbish. At the end of the day IT'S THE GAMES THAT MATTER- NOT THE SPECS! Was the n64 worse than the PSX overall due to its specs or its games? Python, you have really lost the plot now! Not only to say that the specs make the system, but then to go on to say that the Xbox will not do aswell as the PS2 because, while its specs are good, it cannot deliver. Have u even played a PS2? Have you seen a dolphin game or Xbox game running? NO? Thought not. Python- you've flipped!
