Yes, but you have to remember United have got a team of scouts and a largely sucessful youth system. Some great players are now coming through, such as Eagles at the moment.

Bah. I think that whether this player is really that good or not is irrelevant (even if we may be paying around £3m for him!); to me, it seems like this could just be another way of competing with Real Madrid...

No, not by pipping them to one of the future-stars of the world - by reaching-out to an un-explored market, first; just like Real did with the signing of David Beckham, and the Japanese market.
