It used to be cool, laid-back, almost sophisticated comedy in 3 or 4 handy comic book boxes - but now it looks brash, pepped-up, and cutesy-pied for the kids. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! *thumbs down*

One word and a double-barrel surname:

``Jennifer Love-Hewitt´´

"I can't believe how good she looks - without make-up!"

hehe, I like the monster under the bed strip.

On thing about C&H is that at times it can be overbearingly sentimental (The injured squirrel (I think) that died springs to mind) but still be heartwrenchingly emotional. Other times its just gloriously insane (Calvin’s daydreams)

I think I’ll have a re-read of my collection tonight :)

Speaking of Bill Murray, I'm really looking forward to Lost In Translation.

That's good to know.

Never. Bill Watterson won’t even license his characters for merchandising.
With Hellblazer being ruined, I’m thankful for small mercies.

Best C&H strip IMHO.

(Calvin is hammering nails into the table with a look of pure concentration on his face)

Calvin’s Mother
CALVIN, WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

(Calvin looks at her, then the hammer in his hand)

Calvin (looking innocent)
Is this some sort of trick question?

It gets worse. Even through Garfield himself is in full CG (and, to be fair, looks OK), Odie is a real live dog! I actually got my hopes up for this film when I found out Bill Murray was Garfield's voice but having seen the trailer.... *sigh*

I'm not too worried about how it'll turn out - after all, I still have my collection of books to fall back on if it's utter pants.

Just as long as they don't do a film of Calvin & Hobbes ...

how odd...
crap fact: "Bill Murray played Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters and the guy who did the voice for Peter in the cartoon "The real ghostbusters" also voiced garfield in the cartoon" :)
