Is the epitome of badness.

This afternoon;

'Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie'

AI AI AI!!! ZORDON WHAT DO WE DO?
'You must go the nemesis tribula of Kraop and there deveat Toxigirl!'
'GO GO RANGERS!'

Cue insanely badly exagerrated;

A) Body movments
B) Acting
C) Story
D) Cliches that are so bad you'll cry

AND IT HAD A LITTLE KID AS THE USUAL CHEEKY CHAPPY who NOBODY LIKES!!!!!

AHHHHHHHH!

then I turnd on the TV to find;

'Dumb Britain'. I.e people making fools of themselves.

And yet the script, presenters (Tara-para-tompksifnfjfhhlkdfskgh GRR! and Tony Blackburn) fake audience, set and canned laughter suggest otherwise. I.e dumb ITV. Which isn't unusual to be fair.

ITV = Utter sh*te. While TV is not as bad as perhaps Goatboy suggests, ITV is a prime example of what is wrong with it....

TMNT should be made into a Japanese Anime style gorefest, with casey jones cutting crims in half with his hockey stick.

Power Rangers has problems because the original Japanese stories are really badly cut in to cheesy American actors doing the parts that don't involve the fighting. I think the original versions would probably be a marked improvement.

TMNT - The stories follow the original Black and White comics far closer than the original cartoon did and it has Casy Jones in it. I've yet to see whether Radical and Complete Carnage will show up and the violence is still really toned down (not surprising considering this is aimed at children) but you will always find that it causes a problem transferring something originally intended for a cult adult market to a children friendly series.

I've heard that Eastman and Laird, who created the series, were horrified at the cartoon and the merchandise. They probably asked themselves why they had signed the licence over, until they looked at the pile of money from the cartoons, films and toys!

ITV in general has always appealled to the lowest common denominator of viewer, their period dramas and historical dramas are dumbed down, their news is simplified and their programmes are all pretty safe and samey. It has an occassional gem, but used to have more when all the ITV companies were seperate during the 70's and 80's. Now it's bland and smacks of desperation.

Yup, except it was with the fakest trees ever (because it was on a tropical island) against a lava monster that looked like Lego.

Watched as in 10 minutes of my life, which was sufficient to grasp the deep, intelligent and utterly incredible power of this movie.

His name's Jonathon Wilkes and he's a 'friend' of Robbie Williams. He released a single a while back but it went nowhere.

Was it like the original TV show, where they'd be out in a sparse desert hundreds of miles from civilisation, then the big robots would appear and they'd suddenly be fighting in a city, knocking cardboard buildings over left, right and centre in order to 'save the day'?

i can only hope you are joking.

The original power rangers series was a blatant rip off of such comedic legends as 'Monkey' which is still shown occasionally.

only PR has sickeningly cheesy actors, terrible, terrible, terrible battle scenes, and a theme tune that made you want to punch a wall.

cartoons were and still are my favourite - the pink panther, tom and jerry, turtles, x-men, bravestar, thundercats, transformers etc.

I watched the new turtles cartoon the other day - it's exactly the same apart from all the characters look slightly different (the turtles have no eyes).
