You get yourself a secure server - software on your web server which encrypts your data during transmision over the Internet.
I don't think it is something you can fake (although it wouldn't suprise me with Internet Explorer) so you won't be able to just have it appear.

Re the favorites icon, create a bmp file of 16 x 16pxs and 16 colours. 32 x 32 and 256 might work on newer browsers. Rename it favicon.ico and save the file in your site's route directory.

Fairly sure you have to apply the the people who issue them to get a cerfificate or something like that. I think the favorites icon is done in javascript.
