I shut the comp down the other night and the mouse was still active (obviously because it's battery-powered). I assumed it would turn off after five or so minutes. I wake up the next morning and the bloody optical light is still on!
Is there any way - apart from taking the batteries out (which I've now resorted to) - of making sure this thing turns off and doesn't waste the batteries?
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, while I'm here, do you think I could get away with using the cordless keyboard but not the mouse? I prefer my Microsoft Optical Explorer one as it has the extra side buttons.
Many Thanks
I'm just gonna go back to me old corded gear anyways - the sodding batteries in the keyboard have gone flat and I've only had the thing since Sunday!

From what I've read: you can't. After several minutes of activity it should slow it's sample rate down (i.e. the number of times it looks at the mouse mat) to 2 per second.

Almost certainly.
