I bet it was the FX5600 then. The Ti4800 is a pretty good card still. My friend can play Max Payne 2 with full effects at 1600x1200 and with 4x anti-aliasing on a XP2500, 1Gb RAM I think and a Ti4600. To be honest for £117 you could get a nice 9600 Pro. If you want a cheapish card around £100 - £130 then the Radeon 9600 Pro/XT is the card to get at the moment. 9800 Pro/XT has alot more performace but at £275 - £400 depending on the model its quite a big hike up in price.

To be honest don't bother upgrading at all. My friend has a Ti4600 which is basically 4x AGP version of the 4800, and it can play games just as well as my 9800 Pro. Ok so your card may not be true direct X 9, but if its like my friends Ti4600 it should still play the newest games at the highest settings. Personnally I would wait until maybe Halflife 2 and Doom 3 are released and see how they play on your system, by then the new generation of cards will be released. Personnally I dont think you will notice much difference, especially if you can play the newest games at a high setting already. I think its best to wait and get the next gen cards which will be a biggger improvement over the 4800.

Radeon 9800 XT, but at £350 - £400 its not cheap. What card have you got at the moment? As if its a good one already you might as well wait until the next gen cards come out which will probably be sometime before Easter.
