Please can someone spread some light on this little problem of mine.

I have just bought a PS2, the problem is when I try to watch a DVD the picture has a strong green tint.

I have tried changing DVD's but they all come out the same. I have also tried to change the colour on the confirguration settings from RGB to CMYK, this does not work, as when I change to CMYK even the games get a green tint. When RGB is selected only the DVD's have this green tint.

I would appreciate it if someone out there could advise if they have had a similar problem or know how to rectify the problem.

Cheers.

Thanks...

Wookiee Monster - as helpful as always..

BTW - I saw the thread on the PS" HDD/Broadband. VERY interesting about the 'improved textures'.

As for price I guess about £100 and a 40gb hard drive.

Try the SpectraVideo web site, as SR don't seem to stock it yet. The URL is 'obvious' .com

Might be worth a look.

Looks interesting, that's the kind of thing I've been after as I don't want to keep crawling behind my TV to change leads everytime I want to watch a DVD or play a game!

Any idea where I'd get one from?

The PS2 console has got the RGB capabilities disabled so that piracy is less easy.
To sort out the green problem, just use a non RGB cable like the one in th box with the machine.

If you have a look at some of the older topics on the PS2 forum, there are explanations as to why you get a green screen and how to fix it. Something to do with a DVD setting within the console that doesn't let you play DVD through the PSX Scart lead.
