Just wondering what the best way was to backup a hard disk drive which has linux installed on a windows xp system, it needs to be backed up onto either cdwriter or dvd writer.

Cheers

Use a disk image prog like Acronis TrueImage, and save the image of that partition.

If you do have to restore it, on the same HD then it should be easy as the bootloader is already installed, but if onto another XP only or new HD, then you'll have to reinstall Linux (though you can get away with a bare minimum), and restore the partition when ready.
