I'm trying to play movie trailers at apple.com/trailers but the page loads and tells me my thingy wont run activeX controls on pages and asks me to change it.

Simple thing to do - set the slider to Medium-Low.

If you want to be cocky, go to Security, Custom Level, and allow the download of Active X controls (the top one).
Put it to prompt, that should do it.
If it already is, then God knows what you've done.

But doesnt that been fat kids with thick glasses who live in their parents basement can get into my computer and steal my porn?

Tools, Options, Security, then keep changing that level til' it works.
Medium should be about right.
