It's hard to link to a television, but the gist is that families in India hire gangs to kidnap potential grooms to marry their daughters. Because it's cheaper than paying a dowry. The example I saw - I suppose the boy escaped or something along those lines - had a fairly young boy being kidnapped in order to marry a six year old girl. They hurt them until they agree to marry.

I saw it, I think it was on the Ten O' Clock News on BBC1 on Friday. The person they mentioned on that was quite young, and they said the girl he was supposed to marry was six years old.
