As I'm sure you all know by now, Sir Alex Ferguson recently had treatment on a heart irregularity much like Tony Blair has earlier this year. Apparently it's caused by stress, and I hope the players can do him a favour and make the job a little easier on the good man over the next few months.

Good one. In fact, at the Fulham game someone tried to chuck the ball at him and stopped the game- the stewards had to be called in. I wouldn't have seen this if the corporate hospitality seats were above seats used by suspended managers.

Ferguson brought it on himself, though, He's been in the same job for 17 years and rarely takes a break. And was almost fired in 1990.

But, to be honest, he'll be hard to replace. He has overseen a large number of players come through the ranks, kicked United back into life after Big Ron's big failure (He may have won 2 FA Cups and signed Bryan Robson, but it soon went wrong) and given many good players chances that other clubs would not give them (eg Aresenal, who use their youth system to very little effect).

I'm glad it's nothing too serious. But I have to admit that, after all he's been through with United during the past 10-years-alone, I'm surprised it's taken this-long for something like this to emerge - given what we've read about Gerard Houllier and others in the past.

That FA Cup Semi-Final Replay at Vill Park, against Arsénal, when the penalty was given away - in the dying-seconds - and Dennis Bergkamp stepped-up... How on Earth did he survive that when I was hiding-away with my fingers in my ears; expecting the worst?!?!? ;)

Anyway, he's supposed to be well now - so it's good news all-round.

But now, the 'papers are speculating as to whether-or-not he will be signing a new deal or not - even though we know it ain't that-bad.
He needs to do what's right for HIM, though - and not the club... No matter how much we will need him. Even if it was to mean leaving his job at the end of this season, because this "minor" problem became a "Major".
