Snuff movies, for those of you who dont know, are movies which usually show the 'star' being raped or forced into sexual actvity before being butchered. These films, illegal of course, are sold under the counter in some seedy sex shops and in run-down areas of towns where business is unregulated.
I researched this on the internet and it seems that a lot of people on the web beleive they exist, however the vast majority of the authorities claim they are fictional. It is, in my mind at least, quite possible that things like this exist without the authorities ever knowing and legends or rumours are often based on some truth - theres no smoke without fire, right?
The film 8mm, showed Cage as a private investigator for a rich woman who's husband had died and left a tape in his safe. The tape, an 8mm tape, showed a girl performing sex acts before being butchered. Cage tracks the tape down and goes through a series of seedy underground places selling child porn amongst other hideous things and when asking if they sell 'snuff' he is angrily turned away (A bit like the Pot Noodle adverts). He finally reaches a producer of extreme bondage and suchlike films and asks him to make him a snuff film at the cost of $7,000.
I won't spoil the film for you, but it seems that it could well be that people are willing to take that kind of money to do lewd things to innocent young people. It is rumoured that the directors lure young women into remote places with promises of making their "big screen debut" and telling them they are going to be the star of a regular porn movie. However after 'the action' they simply butcher them and leave their bodies.
Now in an age where people are turned on by sick things such as child pornography and foot fetishes, is it impossible to beleive that a snuff film would get someone off? Personally I find the concept sick but in a way it is the ultimate power, controlling the life of someone, and power is considered something of a turn on.
I searched for "Snuff movies" on Google and was greeted with 115,000 results, I am trawling through them and I am getting a balance of things; some saying they're real and other denying their existance. I suppose there is no real was of proving their existance, nor a way of disproving it - however my investigation is far from complete.

The results were, at least the page or so of results I checked out, the stuff I was looking for. Basically forums or debate sections about whether snuff existed or not. I doubt, and certainly hope I don't, stumble across a website that goes along the lines of "XxX stuff action" or something. However I think that if the authorities were looking to stop sick stuff they would just use search engines..
Do you listen to your...writing.
It seems blindingly obvious that there is a way to prove it. See a snuff film.
I really don't understand people.

Dunno, my tobacconist was killed during the making of some weird sex movie.

Oh God. I've been having a massive discussion about this with my girlfriend. He didn't actually kill him, as the "victim" had consented, and had a hand in his own death - even eating part of his own sexual organs on film, before losing consciousness about 10 hours later. That's when the German guy made sure he was dead and then slowly cooked him and ate parts of him. The one thing that doesn't bode well for the German, is that the "victim" wasn't of sound mental health (you wouldn't be really, would you if your fantasy was to be eaten!), so it could be manslaughter or murder. But he could also be convicted of euthanasia, which carries a 5 year sentence.
While it is a bit weird for one person's fantasy to be eating someone, and another's to be eaten - there's nothing wrong with it. The dilemma comes with acting on it, and the breaking of laws in that particular country.
But that was before this guy in Germany who killed and ate somebody on camera.

Do they still make snuff nowadays?
