Ok I know this can be done during recording stages say on a multi-track recorder but can I do this say with a normal MP3? There must be someway...

What I am looking to do is take an MP3 and somehow I want to be able to mute the Vocal track so I can just hear the music. Obviously if you can do that you could also somehow mute the other tracks, drums etc.

THEY DO IT FOR KARAOKE! And for adverts and stuff so how can I do it?

You need .midi files if you want individual instruments (guitar) etc

A program called Dart XP Pro.

It requires you to first turn the file you want into a .WAV file (pretty easy with the right converter) and then from then on it's just a click on a button to devocalise everything.

So I downloaded the try before you buy version here -http://www.dartpro.com/ - thats the official site. Then I realised it only worked for songs which were less then 2 minutes in length. So what I then did was get naughty.

Like a Swashbuckler. You see?

Very pleased with the help given by your staff. They explained technical details in an easy way and were patient when providing information to a non expert like me.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
