I know this is in the FOG forum but has anyone reallythought
about the future of gaming in 10 years time. First the gaminggraphics will be so good that you may as well go outside and climb ahill instead of playing zelda on your nintendo 122354 bit system.so the question is will the games in 10 years time be less
entertaining than they are now and in the past. I mean you have gotzelda, mario, and final fantasy but will they be replaced withphotolike graphics in the near future which arent based on good ideas just real life stuff. I can see a sim style big brother where you actually control the feuds of the people in photos
instead of a virtual game. Basically im saying dat the good people at rare and ubisoft will be out of a job when virtual graphics areso good they are no longer able to improve and so gaming couldeasily die out.
There isnt really a solution computer games will eventually die out
but games companies could slow down a little to make it last
longer. If they are to carry on making mint 64 bit games for awhile then the developers wont have to bring a new console outevery 2 years that the punters cant afford. As a matter of factgames arent only being rushed they are starting to look rushed.
My final point is about gamecube coming out in japan in june, ok soit has to be translated and comes out in america. But then we haveto wait until spring next year to wait for it.......why seems no
one likes us but i cant understand why america get the privilege
and we dont.

Anyway. games are going to get more and more relistic.
It is like PC's as soon as you get the best PC you can, the next day someone has got one better. The PC games are getting better and better but, it means if you have an old PC then you have to get a new one to play on up-to-date games.
Why would you want to climb up a hill instead of playing Zelda. That's just stupid. I don't think that games will turn into photos in the next 10 years, I think that the rate of graphics and gameplay is hitting a peak at the moment until they develop new software. There won't be any big, BIG jumps in the next few years like the jump from 2D to 3D. The next generation consoles like Gamecube and PS2 are the next jump but Nintendo or Sony won't bring out any more consoles for a few years or until there has been a big enough advancedment in technology. Once they have made the console, games can only get to a certain point, once they are there (unless they develop an add-on) they can't get much better.
I think that once they are there then companies will start to develop newer, better consoles. But that will not be for another five or six years.
Until then, the standard of games will go up, but will not get into photo style playing for at least 15 years if not more.
