I'm a fairly new guitarist (been playing for about 3 and a half months) and recently got an acoustic guitar (end of October). It's a nice little instrument but recently it's been suffering string buzz, mostly on the second string (that's second thinnest, not thickest).
It can be countered by really pushing down hard when fretting it, but when fretting with the strength I usually apply to it, it buzzes. It only started happening over the past couple of weeks.

Any ideas on what's causing it?

Cheers

The reason your guitar is messed up is because the world despises you, and you are being punished by God for your sins.

What ever you do DO NOT TOUCH THE TRUSS ROD unless you know what you are doing, you can seriously screw your guitar up. All sorts of things can effect the state of the neck from ambient temperature to stress, the best thing you can do is try replacing the strings first and of that doesn't work take it to a shop and have them look at it.

Hmm, it's not the bridge pins.
I'm beginning to think that it is indeed the truss rod but why would it only have started happening now?

Check the pegs at the bottom of the guitar, this used to happen to me and one of them wasn't in properly, so I just pushed it down and it was ok.

Its something to do with the relief of the neck, adjusted by the truss rod.
