"As with the Xbox 360, the PS3 will output its picture in resolutions up to the 1080p high-definition standard."

Wrong. XBox 360 can only handle up to 1080i.

"...AV and optical outs, two hi-res HMI video ports, slots for Memory Stick Duo, SD Cards and Compact Flash and SIX USB2.0 ports! It also has a removable hard drive, just like its rival. Sony have also revealed just how much the PS3 can do with these connections, including Internet browsing, video chat and photo browsing and archival. One incredible function offered by the HMI connection is that the ports will drive HDTV"

That would be "HDMI" (High-Definition Multimedia Interface), and what's hi-res about them? It's not a "hi-res" connection at all - just a digital one as opposed to analogue. The comments about "one incredible function" also make me laugh - HDMI was developed FOR things like HDTV and souround sound, so what's incredible about it?!!

Sorry SR, but your news isn't worth publishing most of the time. It's usually always full of factual errors, and meaningless "oooooh", "aaaaaah" comments to try and hide the lack of substance.

Haha.

I love how these companies use all this technical garbage that clearly 99% of people don't have a clue about.

It's probably all made up as well.

I think for that bit they missed out the fact that you can run two HDTV screens from the one PS3, so you can do things like use one screen for gameplay and the other for another task (like downloading stuff, videochat to friends in the same game etc). Alternatively Sony say you can have two HDTV screens side by side and use the PS3 to produce a panoramic view.

This is incredible because how many people have $5000 lying about to afford two HDTVs to make use of the feature?

Not convinced. They simply do not understand anything when it comes to reporting on technology. Also, it's NOT incredible to output to two HDTV screens side-by-side; PCs have been doing it for years.

Hahahahahaha!

Plus my HDTV has Dual Screen output which can be used to display two different inputs so you don't need two HDTV's providing you have multiple DVI-D/HDMI connections or even Component Video/DVI-D/HDMI.
