So what if Ronaldo became on the 3rd player to have scored 50 goals for Brazil - that was a great backwards-header, giving the 'keeper no-chance whatsoever! Not even Ronaldo can score them that good!! ;D
But what a way to lose to Holland, though... 6-0!!
All the expectations after the first-leg 1-0 home win... All that hope....
What a mess!!
I can't believe Wales lost to Russia, though.
Then again, they were lacking Simon Davies and Craig Bellamy in the midfield and attack I suppose... And is it just me or were they playing with a really heavy, cack football last night?? From what I could see, on that wet Cardiff pitch, it looked as if they were playing with an iron ball or something, and it really made the game drag....
The other teams all seemed to have 'lighter' ones - whatever the weather.
But John Hartson is no replacement for Bellamy, and they can't expect Giggs to do 'everything' for them, in midfield.
Rob Earnshaw could be good-enough in a couple more years time, but I didn't realise the Welsh had such a shortage of strikers... I though England were bad-enough!
Hartson's just a "target-man". Look for him in the box and he'll get his head on it. But he is big, and he is slow - especially at his age, now. He doesn't have the pace of other strikers, and cannot really do that much else with the ball at his feet. And Nathan Blake.....
A dissapointing night overall, then. I was really hoping to see at least ONE other British side make it into Portugal next Summer, but hey.
I really think Scotland could've done it, but that first-goal really hit their young and in-experienced squad hard. (Plus, one linesman was a blatant Dutch-fan, and van der Saar was an A-hole, all night!)
Oh well, maybe in 2006 then....
thats 5 goals for the united strike force in two different continents on the same night!
