However, I don't know what this connection is and it sometimes says 'Network cable unplugged' and sometimes says 'Enabled, Shared'. I cannot delete it, and the PS2 doesn't connect when it says either.
Both connections claim the card is a SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter.
I had PS2 online once using the straightthrough cable but thats not possible anymore, so.
Please help!
If it is installed correctly then I suggest going to My Network places on the desktop, and then running the home networking wizard. If you have run it before then it will ask if you want to edit your settings. Click yes then run through the wizard again, making sure your settings are correct, the right card is selected etc.
If that does nothing, then check the cable. I bought a crossover cable from a PC shop where it was handmade. However it had been wired up wrongly and was useless. If you too bought your cable hand made from a shop I suggest you compare the ends of it to this:
http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/live/start/connect/faq/
It has pictures near the bottom of the page showing what the cable should be like with what colour of wires in which order in the cable jack.
All failing that, post this in the PS2 forum and hope that FM or Jive/Lipe (I forget which is which) can help you out.
