But now to add insult to injury they have delayed possibly the best game ever, back a good 6 months. I know that they may have their reasons but surely Konami have sealed the PS2's fate. This official report from Daily Radar Says it all:
"Konami of America today confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for PlayStation 2 will ship to retail outlets this fall -- thus crushing rumors to the contrary."
Come on, and that is only the states, I know discs are a lot quicker and easier to publish so they may not have the same delay that Nintendo will soon have experienced with Banjo-Tooie but if MGS2 arrives in the states as late as November then the UK fans might not pick their copy up until after Christmas! Believe it or not Christmas is VERY big for videogame sales, I heard it was around 49% of all games and console sales were in the 'Holiday Season' If Sony can't ship the PAL version of MGS2 in time for Santa to fill his sleigh then Sony might just see the GAMECUBE go whizzing past in the fast lane. No doubt there will be some super titles for the PS2 before the Autumn BUT NONE, and I mean NONE, will have the effect and hype that MGS2 has. People have been on about this game for ages and the last thing everyone wanted to see was a delay, but this delay, which is showing more Nintendo charachter than ever, might just be the turning point of the vidoegames market especially here in the UK!
I honestly wish that MGS2 does arrive this year, because although the unbias me would like to see Nintendo shine, I would also like to see how Sony can combat the Gamecube launch with one game. Nintendo did it with Majora's Mask I don't know if Sony will have lost too many fans to return the favour but we will see. But for now, you can guarantee that Sony won't be selling too many PS2's at their current price with the news of such a delay. It might be Nintendo's Year, Nintendo themselves seem to think so!
So it is easy too see how MGS2 could indeed be a 'Time-Bomb' it will either blow up in Sony's face OR it will see off Nintendo and Microsoft and give Sony a clear path. I don't know what it will do and everyone will have diffrent opinions, but I guess we will have to wait even more to find out the answer!

How the hell do you play PSX games on a DC I know about the BIGSOFT BUT how does the controller work? do you have an adapter?????

This means a December 2001/January 2002 release date here.
Not bad! I'd heard it was April in Europe!!

An example of this is GT3 - delayed over a year, it'll now be much better than it would have been had it been rushed for a PS2 launch release - we're now looking at a true GT2 sequel rather than GT2.5. And as much as I want GT3 now, I know the wait'll be worth it - the same goes for MGS2.

Let me just point out that it was Nintendos year last year with the biggest ever profits in there history.
MGS2 will be released after Christmas in the US as well,I am willing to say that asI know the problems Konami face! PDark had the same problems! remember
for the PS2, I said it was down to Konami not being happy with the end of the game, because apparently it dies down after the half way mark, I think I should win a game for being so GOOD! I give the news before it happens and before the company knows it!
YES I AM SOOO GOOD! surely this is a talent:
er-no's next prediction: Microsoft release the Xbox at a stupid price because they need to get money back from the amount lost. personally I don't think people who buy the Xbox in 2002 will buy 30 games buy 2005,therefore the Xbox will be a Microsoft failure. Microsoft = trouble!
