Got mine through Play, so arrived early. Very, very good; and gets better with each listen. Easy to forget just how good Jay-Z can be after a major blip in the last few albums. Retiring at 24 though, that's just lazy. I remember the days when MC's went until they were locked up or shot.

Indoodetably. Metallica should go back to what they were doing in the 80's- proper heavy metal and thrash.

It is a pretty good one. Jay-Z's best in a long time. His style seriously went downhill with the last 2 or 3 albums (The Dynasty onwards).

I wasn't too optimistic about this, but I like it quite a lot now.

Well Done Mr Carter...

I was thinking of Prince's "The Black Album". There's a book with the same title about that album. It rrrocks.

Metallica would be my second pick, but that album was actually called "Metallica".

Damn, I was thinking of the 'Tap when I clicked the link too!

"Stonehenge! Where the demons dwell...where the banshees live, and they do live well"

'The Black Album' is just a nickname to avoid confusion, because it was self-titled.

Not exactly my favourite Metallica album (Because it is nowhere near as fast as Kill 'Em All or a masterpiece of heavy metal like Master of Puppets), but it's still quite good. Nowhere near as agressive as its predecessor ...And Justice For All.

Bah, I thought this was about another Black album.
The Spinal Tap one rules, "Sex Farm" is a particular favourite with such insightful lyrics as
"Sniffing at your barn door, poking in your hay"

The Metallica one is the exact moment the rot set in. Previous labyrinnthiene song structures turned into "Oooo-yeah-yeah" cockrock hair metal lite.

I don't know about this Jay-Z person.
