I haven't played the original in a while, ever since I found out that after installing the expansion all previous saved games no longer work. Still, finished all the game I wanted to play this year which does leave a gap to fill, I think I'll go back and start again and see what other features the viking Invasion offers to Medieval.

Haven't managed to complete a campaign on the standard version yet.

Damn egyptians don;t know when they're beaten.

Have you tried the expansion pack for Medieval, The Viking Invasion? the new Viking units in it are brutal beyond belief. They sent about 20 of their Beserkers, all with high honour against my 200 strong Scottish army, and they wasted me completely. Granted, I did kill them all, but they took well over a hundred on my soldiers with them.

Only really possible if you have the cheaty infinite arrows option on though, eh?

So does a load of nonsensical spiel about loving Planet and hugging mind-worms, so I kind of discount it as a source of meaningful tactical advice.
