Is there anyway to add a kind of padlock or password thing to a folder? I have a zip program that can do this but the folder in question is too massive to go through compression and when I unselect compression it still doesn't work.

My bro was exactly the same, and I'd always get the blame for his damage. Why the hell would I get rid of coursework? Why would I want to get myself in trouble? I always managed to ridicule him though! lol! HE always seems to think his games aren't running as fast as they should do, but who cares! As long as they DO run! So he deletes things to try to speed it up. I've already told him that it doesn't work! It just frees up space!

Now, he wants to buy his own laptop so that he can play his games on there instead, and "I" can't mess up his games!

I understand how you feel - a while back, I stored most of my coursework on my computer - then my little sis wanted to go on the 'Internet' - which meant dig around folders and damage/delete/screw up anything she could get her hands on!
Never again. She now goes on the Laptop...
Bottom line - if you are using XP,NT,2000 read the HELP !
If you are not using XP then try searching google for what you are after as there are various solutions offered for free...
GWD.
But I also would like to know how to do this, to keep all my stuff safe from my bro. I have all my own stuff saved in my own private folder, but currently he can acces it as he pleases.

Good idea there for a computer newb like me. But I want it secure from hackers/viruses that might delete stuff, not just my brother.

Heh, I used to do that. Recently I selected to show hidden files/folders. LOADS of stuff I thought I'd lost popped up!
