Viewers complained that the advertising was misleading because the main claim was based on the results of limited tests in which the specification of the computers used was configured to give Apple the best results.
[...]
Due to the technical nature of the advertiser's response, the ITC asked the BACC to refer the complaints and the response to the BACC's expert. He found that the claim was not supported by independent reviews and that at best "the G5 was generally as fast as the best Intel-based workstations currently available".
Fanboys on both sides of the fence can argue back and forth over Apple's prices, aesthetics, OS, and even hardware, but I can't imagine many will step up to defend Steve Jobs' passion for hyperbole. Apple's marketing department certainly isn't the first to step over the line—Pentium 4 speeds up the Internet, anyone?—but it appears they've stepped farther over the line than the UK is willing to allow. How gay.

At the end of the day it's like everything else in life: personal choice. I had a PC for years and the only thing I ever upgraded was the memory. When I sold it last week it had an 800MHz processor, a 16Mb graphics card, 512Mb of RAM and a 30Gb hard drive which I only put in because the 8Gb one I had before died.
The G5's and the old G4's are more upgradable than iMac so I guess you go for what you want. Me? I can honestly say I'm happy with what I've got and will be for some time to come.
But you have limited upgrade options.

Alright - calm down. If you read my post again you'll notice that I was asking questions and not making statements. There's no need to resort to comments like "Nurse, get the needles" even if it is in jest.
What's wrong with just telling me that you have, in fact, used a Mac and that you're basing your opinion on experience? Most people round resort to name calling and abuse far too easily ...
Now now children. Lets all get a long aye?
I only despise Mac's because of the lack of pure game-age material.
Jesus it's worse than I thought. Nurse, get the needles.

So you knock Macs all the time but you know nothing about them? I guess you're basing all your criticisms on what you've heard from other people?
Hmmmm.

Don't worry, there are plenty of others.
Do normal mice on Macs actually do anything? Surely the whole system is designed for people who can't co-ordinate more than a finger at a time.
The whole button thing is how I dissuaded my dad from buying a Mac.
This undermines my position as his IT specialist.
