I sat watchign the ending waiting for some thing to happen, so Neo died to save the world but what was The Oracle and The architect talking about?

It reset again, like it always does.

It didn't reset as most of the people of Zion are still alive, and so probably is Neo. I think that the film should have had a more final ending but Hollywood will want a 4th film and so the writers had to leave it open. Neo will return and the peace will break down.

I thought Neo died

How do we know he is dead and not jsut nearly dead and even if he is he has risen before. I think he'll be back especially with the machine dragging him off at the end. If this was to return him to Zion then we would have seen that scene.

He will be back bigger and better then before.

I believe the 'cataclysmic failure' talked about in Reloaded was actually Agent Smith.. he 'usually' destroys the matrix by infecting it. Neo should have returned to the source to be protected while the machines switch off/reset the matrix.

Because Neo chose to go back into the matrix to save Trinity, other means had to be found to remove Agent Smith. This was succesful, so the usual turn of events never happened (but there's no way the war is over....)

P.S. the Matrix *was* reset, after Smith was eliminated, you saw it refresh and then it was a much happier, non-green-tinted matrix.

Course he'll be back, but not as Neo - just as the next iteration. At a guess I'd say the machines were taking back the code he carries (seen glowing yellow at the end)

Neo died. No one notice one of the most obvious references to Neo as Christ? When the machines were dragging him at the end - his legs we4re crossed and his arms spred - the imag of christ on the cross. The fact that christians belive that someday he will return is pushed here.

The oracle saying that to effect that they will see neo again is true, as neo was the product of an unbalenced equation in the matrix, and as the matrix was reset this remainder will again begin to build up until the one is reborn.
