Is it me or does anyone else get bogus music with ear-splitting digital screeches cut it off a couple of seconds into the song?

You can get around this by putting permanent marker on the 'protective banding'. Apparently.

i use a thing called CDex to convert, got it on kazaa

K-Lite will block known port numbers of people trying to sue you. This includes the RIAA and Sony music. Thus meaning that you wont be downloading any bogus music files (or atleast thats the idea).

As for coding CDs into MP3, I use iTunes. It'll even burn CDs for me.

Stupid thing is, I know of people who've bought Sony CDs and then had to download the tracks anyway to get them onto mp3 players due to the copy protection.

Just in case that you, CDex rips all. I can listen to stuff I've bought the way I want to - cheers to Sony and friends for going out of their way to make that difficult.
