Saiyuki Gaiden- Gensomaden Saiyuki (Special Reserve Edition)
Based on classical Buddhist Chinese novels, Gaiden Saiyuki and Gensomaden Saiyuki are very popular among the Japanese and Chinese, while Gaiden Saiyuki is more popular in Japan, Gensomaden Saiyuki appears to be more familiar in China, its place of birth. The manga and anime of these masterpieces have been modified to make them more interesting. They are hilarious, fun and just exciting to watch. A mix of romance, true friendship that no one admits to and the elements of comedic and extreme violence. I saw Gensomaden Saiyuki while I was on holiday in Malaysia and I found out the background history of Saiyuki Gaiden on the internet. Unfortunately, these manga and anime masterpieces don’t even exist here in UK. Which is why I’m introducing this to you, only it’s been modified a bit which has SR elements and users (Most of them own PS2s). Anyway, let’s begin….
Terms of refence:
-SR gods: Gods that aren’t incarnated and control Heaven, and Hell (But not Earth). They have the blueprints of the creation and secrets of all 3 worlds (Heaven, Earth and Hell) which are written in Sutras (5 in total), strips of cloth which look like scrolls that are meant to be holy. By using the right incantation, they can actually kill Newbies!!
-Mega Notables: Gods that live in SR’s Heaven.
-Notables: Highest rank a monk could have that follow the path of SR and wish to be reincarnated into Mega Notables. They carry Holy Sutras which are given by Mega Notables, passed on by SR gods. Supposedly to bring peace and balance to Earth.
-Regulars: Humans and Human monks(Monks that wish to be selected as Notables by previous Notables. Every generation only one Notable is allowed to be elected).
-Newbies: Demons.
500 years ago—Gaiden Saiyuki (roughly translated as Before The Beginning Of The Journey)
Jiveo (Mega Notable): Jiveo is a full blown Mega Notable, hardly anyone has any idea what he does but paperwork. The nephew of Alastair, Alastair lumps him with the newly found Isa to lighten him up a bit.
Isa (Newbie): This is the same Isa, only 500 years young, newly found, he’s shorter, always hungry, naïve and not as bad mouthed as the Isa 500 years later. He’s nothing more than a happy go lucky kid who all but worships Jiveo, though he hates Jiveo’s bad moods.
Absolut Neon (Mega Notable): Ladies man!! One of the generals in the army of SR’s Heaven. With nothing else to do he drinks all day instead. Most people think he’s dangerous. And he is in many ways (Still wonder why he’s a ladies man?!). He only respects Nathana Buchanana.
Nathana Buchanana (Mega Notable): Natha (As other people would call him) is a Marshall of Heaven’s army, he seems to spend most of his time reading about war in his office and playing U.S Soccom—Navy Seals on his PS2 in his office. At the end of the day this heavy smoker who smokes like a chimney leaves a big mess for other people to tidy up. He’s an old friend of Jiveo and looks out for Absolut Neon.
On one fine day Isa, after a few months being brought to Heaven to lighten up Jive, Isa goes all mental because he wants Burger King but the SR gods only gives him McDonalds with no Cola! Born from the rocks of Mount Joey, he carries the aura and essence of Earth and uses this power to terrorize Heaven. After centuries of boredom living in Heaven, Jiveo finally laughs looking at Isa trying to turn Heaven into Hell!! Natha and Absolut Neon get their soldiers of Heaven to stop Isa but in the end their efforts were nothing more than a waste! Soon Alastair steps in and gives places a BigMac Headband on Isa’s head, a headband which preserves Isa’s full demonic strength with the darkness, depression and inner evil in him. Not so long after that Jiveo, Isa, Neon and Natha were summoned by the SR gods. Jive, for not even trying to stop Isa when he was terrorizing Heaven. Isa, for creating havoc in Heaven and Natha and Neon for not making a good plan on how to stop Isa by underestimating him. These were the offences the SR gods stated out to the 3 Mega Notables and the Newbie Monkey. Soon all Mega Notbales were killed (Or banned, as it works in SR), forever banned in Heaven until they would prove to the SR gods that one day they would once again rise and prove being capable again to be Mega Notables. As for Isa, Alastair imprisoned him in Mount Rock, where he would stop aging. Isa was meant to be imprisoned for 500 years until one day a Notable with golden blonde hair (Shinier than the sun) would free him and would be in need of Isa’s assistance.

500 years later, the Mega Notables are reincarnated (Or registered again as it works in SR). But they do not remember anything about their previous incarnations and they all think this whole reincarnation thing is just ridiculous. Anyway, they are:
Jive(Notable): When he was just a Regular kid, he was just an orphan of unknown origin. It was IneedSleep who took care of him and brought him to a temple. Jive respected IneedSleep like his own father, his pillar of strength, the only person he ever liked, and the only person who ever liked him during Jive’s childhood. One night, IneedSleep gave Jive one of the holy Sutras (The Evil Sutra) and elected him as a Notable. Jive was shocked, as he knew (In fact everyone at the temple knew) that he didn’t even believe in the gods, and now he was just elected as the closest person to these people, or figurines he didn’t even believe in. Jive didn’t know why, as it was only a Notable’s duty to elect another Regular to become a Notable if he knew he was close to death. Then on the same night, Newbies raided the temple, and stole 4 of the Holy Sutras from IneedSleep and killed him. Jive’s effort to protect Sanzo was useless. The Notables had a new successor. One that would bring peace and equilibrium. The Sun of suns. But even so, after IneedSleep’s death, Jive ran away from the temple, his one and only home and took the Evil Sutra that IneedSleep gave to him. He thought it was only natural for him to retrieve the stolen Sutras, its what his master, his father would have wanted. 10 years later, at the age of 20+, the Notable Jive was summoned by the SR gods, to retrieve the stolen Sutras, and make sure the Evil Sutra would never fall into the hands of Newbies, as they would revive I_am_muffin_man, a Newbie who is the source of all evil and spam. The Notable Jive has golden blonde hair, he is charismatic, and still drinks, smokes and gambles, not to mention the love of violence. He still hasn’t changed after 500 years when he was Jiveo.

Neo is the child of a Regular and a Newbie which makes him a Regubie, supposedly cursed with hair as red as blood. Regulars stay away from him because they believe that a Regubie would bring disaster to anyone who stays close to that Regubie. But Neo is a good gambler, he has never lost when it comes to gambling at it and it has become his courier. Reborn from the seas, Absolut Neo is known as the horny red sea monster! He keeps his childhood memory as a secret and tells no one.
Nath(Regular to Newbie): Has always been a loner since he was a child, but Nath has always been well educated and a well mannered Regular. He was meant to marry the Regular(Female Regular) he loved. But then the 100-Eyed Newbie family raped his fiancée and made her pregnant! Nath, for the very first time in his life got really mental and killed the 100-Eyed Newbie family… The whole lot! Legend has it that if a Regular kills 1000+ Newbies, that Regular would turn into a Newbie himself. Soon Nath ran away and stayed at Neo’s cottage. Jive found Nath and presented him to the SR gods for trial. They soon gave him an ear clip to preserve Nath’s evil Newbie powers (Just like Isa’s Golden BigMac Headband). Jive, Isa and Nath were meant to go on a journey, to the far west to retrieve the Holy Sutras and stop I_am_muffin_man’s revival. With Neo, not wanting to lose a friend as good as Nath, tagged along on their Journey.

Based on classical Buddhist Chinese novels, Gaiden Saiyuki and Gensomaden Saiyuki are very popular among the Japanese and Chinese, while Gaiden Saiyuki is more popular in Japan, Gensomaden Saiyuki appears to be more familiar in China, its place of birth. The manga and anime of these masterpieces have been modified to make them more interesting. They are hilarious, fun and just exciting to watch. A mix of romance, true friendship that no one admits to and the elements of comedic and extreme violence. I saw Gensomaden Saiyuki while I was on holiday in Malaysia and I found out the background history of Saiyuki Gaiden on the internet. Unfortunately, these manga and anime masterpieces don’t even exist here in UK. Which is why I’m introducing this to you, only it’s been modified a bit which has SR elements and users (Most of them own PS2s). Anyway, let’s begin….
Terms of refence:
-SR gods: Gods that aren’t incarnated and control Heaven, and Hell (But not Earth). They have the blueprints of the creation and secrets of all 3 worlds (Heaven, Earth and Hell) which are written in Sutras (5 in total), strips of cloth which look like scrolls that are meant to be holy. By using the right incantation, they can actually kill Newbies!!
-Mega Notables: Gods that live in SR’s Heaven.
-Notables: Highest rank a monk could have that follow the path of SR and wish to be reincarnated into Mega Notables. They carry Holy Sutras which are given by Mega Notables, passed on by SR gods. Supposedly to bring peace and balance to Earth.
-Regulars: Humans and Human monks(Monks that wish to be selected as Notables by previous Notables. Every generation only one Notable is allowed to be elected).
-Newbies: Demons.
500 years ago—Gaiden Saiyuki (roughly translated as Before The Beginning Of The Journey)
Jiveo (Mega Notable): Jiveo is a full blown Mega Notable, hardly anyone has any idea what he does but paperwork. The nephew of Alastair, Alastair lumps him with the newly found Isa to lighten him up a bit.
Isa (Newbie): This is the same Isa, only 500 years young, newly found, he’s shorter, always hungry, naïve and not as bad mouthed as the Isa 500 years later. He’s nothing more than a happy go lucky kid who all but worships Jiveo, though he hates Jiveo’s bad moods.
Absolut Neon (Mega Notable): Ladies man!! One of the generals in the army of SR’s Heaven. With nothing else to do he drinks all day instead. Most people think he’s dangerous. And he is in many ways (Still wonder why he’s a ladies man?!). He only respects Nathana Buchanana.
Nathana Buchanana (Mega Notable): Natha (As other people would call him) is a Marshall of Heaven’s army, he seems to spend most of his time reading about war in his office and playing U.S Soccom—Navy Seals on his PS2 in his office. At the end of the day this heavy smoker who smokes like a chimney leaves a big mess for other people to tidy up. He’s an old friend of Jiveo and looks out for Absolut Neon.
On one fine day Isa, after a few months being brought to Heaven to lighten up Jive, Isa goes all mental because he wants Burger King but the SR gods only gives him McDonalds with no Cola! Born from the rocks of Mount Joey, he carries the aura and essence of Earth and uses this power to terrorize Heaven. After centuries of boredom living in Heaven, Jiveo finally laughs looking at Isa trying to turn Heaven into Hell!! Natha and Absolut Neon get their soldiers of Heaven to stop Isa but in the end their efforts were nothing more than a waste! Soon Alastair steps in and gives places a BigMac Headband on Isa’s head, a headband which preserves Isa’s full demonic strength with the darkness, depression and inner evil in him. Not so long after that Jiveo, Isa, Neon and Natha were summoned by the SR gods. Jive, for not even trying to stop Isa when he was terrorizing Heaven. Isa, for creating havoc in Heaven and Natha and Neon for not making a good plan on how to stop Isa by underestimating him. These were the offences the SR gods stated out to the 3 Mega Notables and the Newbie Monkey. Soon all Mega Notbales were killed (Or banned, as it works in SR), forever banned in Heaven until they would prove to the SR gods that one day they would once again rise and prove being capable again to be Mega Notables. As for Isa, Alastair imprisoned him in Mount Rock, where he would stop aging. Isa was meant to be imprisoned for 500 years until one day a Notable with golden blonde hair (Shinier than the sun) would free him and would be in need of Isa’s assistance.
500 years later Gensomaden Saiyuki (Roughly translated as The Journey Ahead)
500 years later, the Mega Notables are reincarnated (Or registered again as it works in SR). But they do not remember anything about their previous incarnations and they all think this whole reincarnation thing is just ridiculous. Anyway, they are:
Jive(Notable): When he was just a Regular kid, he was just an orphan of unknown origin. It was IneedSleep who took care of him and brought him to a temple. Jive respected IneedSleep like his own father, his pillar of strength, the only person he ever liked, and the only person who ever liked him during Jive’s childhood. One night, IneedSleep gave Jive one of the holy Sutras (The Evil Sutra) and elected him as a Notable. Jive was shocked, as he knew (In fact everyone at the temple knew) that he didn’t even believe in the gods, and now he was just elected as the closest person to these people, or figurines he didn’t even believe in. Jive didn’t know why, as it was only a Notable’s duty to elect another Regular to become a Notable if he knew he was close to death. Then on the same night, Newbies raided the temple, and stole 4 of the Holy Sutras from IneedSleep and killed him. Jive’s effort to protect Sanzo was useless. The Notables had a new successor. One that would bring peace and equilibrium. The Sun of suns. But even so, after IneedSleep’s death, Jive ran away from the temple, his one and only home and took the Evil Sutra that IneedSleep gave to him. He thought it was only natural for him to retrieve the stolen Sutras, its what his master, his father would have wanted. 10 years later, at the age of 20+, the Notable Jive was summoned by the SR gods, to retrieve the stolen Sutras, and make sure the Evil Sutra would never fall into the hands of Newbies, as they would revive I_am_muffin_man, a Newbie who is the source of all evil and spam. The Notable Jive has golden blonde hair, he is charismatic, and still drinks, smokes and gambles, not to mention the love of violence. He still hasn’t changed after 500 years when he was Jiveo.
Isa(Newbie): Was never incarnated. After imprisoned in Mount Rock for 500 years, Jive saves him from this prison made out of hard rock and treats Isa like his pet. Isa hasn’t changed at all, he still feels still the same away towards Jive, although Isa (And just like the rest of the Mega Notables) have no memory of their lives 500 years ago. This Newbie monkey still has the same attitude, only he’s a lot hungrier which is no surprise after being imprisoned for 500 years with no food at all.
Absolut Neo(Regubie): After 500 years none of them have ever changed. Absolut Neo is still the ladies man. Neo is the child of a Regular and a Newbie which makes him a Regubie, supposedly cursed with hair as red as blood. Regulars stay away from him because they believe that a Regubie would bring disaster to anyone who stays close to that Regubie. But Neo is a good gambler, he has never lost when it comes to gambling at it and it has become his courier. Reborn from the seas, Absolut Neo is known as the horny red sea monster! He keeps his childhood memory as a secret and tells no one.
Nath(Regular to Newbie): Has always been a loner since he was a child, but Nath has always been well educated and a well mannered Regular. He was meant to marry the Regular(Female Regular) he loved. But then the 100-Eyed Newbie family raped his fiancée and made her pregnant! Nath, for the very first time in his life got really mental and killed the 100-Eyed Newbie family… The whole lot!
