I'm relying on a certain online retailer, so I decided to search the internet for info.
Apparently the headset is just a rebranded and reworked PC one, but this is not necessarily a bad thing because PC manufacturers have had longer to play about with them than Microsoft has with their Xbox one. Microsoft also have no commercial competition to drive their designing process.
Anyway, I came across this short, concise review about the headset:
"The headset are really for those of us who cannot stand that so called communication device that live comes with. A behind the neck (adjustable) neckband, an oversized earpiece for those of us who want the comfort of something that really fits over the ear not just centers on it, in line volume and mute control. The voice commands for this game are incredible and can be used with the regular live communicator. This particular headset offers better noise cancellation features for better voice recognition."
It made my mind up for me instantly so I've posted it here in case it does likewise for other people.
This Rainbow Six 3 looks a bit bulky to be honest.

And before any staffies moan, HHAT told them there was this version of the game with the headset but it's not even listed on SR's system, hence you cannot buy it from here if you wanted to.
