Famous for being synical and controversal.
Enrage zealots of all formats.
Make predictions that most make out to be nonsense.
And now as the companies start losing profits, in exactly the same way Digi predicted, the phrase "Told you so" has been said many times.
Example no. 1
Digitiser saw that Sega made great games but no one was buying the console. 1 year ago, they suggested that Sega become a software company. Hundreds of Sega zealots called them idiots.
Sega ignored Digitiser, kept losing money and were forced to do exactly what Digi had told them to do a year ago!
Example no. 2
Seeing that the PS2 was filled with sequels, very few new ideas and an overcomplicated pre order system. They knew that the PS2 wouldn't be as big as everyone expected.
I wouldn't know as I haven't played a PS2 but most people seem to think that the only really, really, REALLY good game coming out for it is MGS 2. Digitiser was right again.
Example no. 3
This one is really important as it put the games industry in bad health.
Digitiser knew that with 30+ games on Sony's machine, and not so many PS2 hardware units to go round, it was clear to Digi that the sales would be thinly spread and few companies would make a profit. Especially as PS2 games are difficult and expensive to make!
The likes of EA and Edios ignored the warnings. They blindly spent a fortune, releasing a load of games for the PS2, thinking that they'd make a fortune out of it.
Now, both companies are showing large losses and blaming it all on the "botched" PS2 launch. Now, hundreds of games companies have lost a fortune, putting the games industry in bad health.
So as these idiot run companies cry over lost profits, Digitiser simply says "Told you so! You should've listened!"
So lets hear it for the games magazine who are (nearly) always right and how manage to enrage zealots from every format!
