Depends what set-up you're got.
If you're got an eternet port in the back of your modem, all you need it an ethernet cable and a XBox Live starter kit.

Indeed it was helpful. But on this site it said i don't NEED a router... Is this true?
I recently got Live, and I found www.btopenworld.com/xboxlive very helpful.
