But imo FT would have gotten even better had they made another few seasons, but admittedly after about 30 eps there wouldn't have been much they could do in such a closed environment.
John Cleese ended it much too soon though - just look at the improvement made by the brilliant series 2 compared to s1. It would have just gotten better with more series.
And just twelve eps?! Generally the first 12 eps of any long running show are the worst.
British TV should have 22 ep long seasons like in the US.
Oh, and I found all the 'regular' guests to be unfunny, like the major, the 2 old ladies etc. so they should've been kicked out of the show.
There you have the reason why a) It's so funny, and b) There are only twelve episodes.
