I certainly wasn't to be disappointed. The best Formula 1 game I'd ever played before this was F1 2000 on PSX. I was very impressed by that game but even more so with F1 Championship Season 2000.
The graphics are excellent, and it has all the cars and drivers from the 2000 season.
There are a 5 modes on this game, which are season mode, custom season, single races, multiplayer and Grand Prix weekend. There's nothing new here really, apart from custom season mode, where you choose which tracks to race in which order. You can also customise the qualifying positions, which can lead to quite a few abnormal race winners!
This game is fun as well as challenging, although it can be very frustrating at some points. You will need quite a lot of practice to get used to the game, but once you do, it's quite a lot of fun to play, and also quite addictive.
The best thing about this game has to be the GIGANTIC crashes!! If you crash hard enough and fast enough, you will spin up metres in the air, while completely destroying your car!!
If you want to see these crashes again, just press trinagle for the instant replay. Lovely!
The graphics on this game are amazing, and the in-game action is as good as the FMV sequences (in other words, replays and the bit before the race).
The cars are detailed, the crowd is exceptional, with photo flashes and and great detail on the sponsorship boards.
You can also see the heat coming from the back of the cars at the start of the race!!
The cars are easy to control, but you can change all that to fit your style.
There are a few disappointing parts. No commentary, and the music isn't brilliant, but the cars sound very realistic.
There are nothing really that new apart from the grpahics ad updated teams and drivers, but really, what can you add to a Formula 1 game??
Overall, this is a definite purchase for Formula 1 fans, and it gets 8.5/10 from me.
PS- I know this is supposed to be in the reviews bit, but I couldn't find it there.
And yes, this is an obvious attempt to win Gameaday!
