Our local movie emporium had a deal whereby if you pre-order tickets for Revolutions for next wedensday, you could see The Matrix, Final Flight of the Osiris and Reloaded for 2.50 last night, so me and some mates had a bit of that.
Anyway, it made me think about what could come up in the last film. Here's some ideas of mine:
1. The Merovingian is a former Neo. I.e, one of Neo's predecessors.
2. Neo is some kind of human/machine hybrid, like Robocop. The Architect says something like "This process has left you still part human, so some of my answers you will understand, and some you won't."
3. Zion is still somehow within the Matrix (an obvious one, I know) as Smith manages to copy himself over someone who lives in Zion, and Neo could stop the squidy things at the end of Reloaded.
Just some thoughts, and any or all could be correct, or complete tosh.
So what do you think?
"We didn't get even a glimpse of Trinity's nipples!"
"Neo in scene 125 isn't wearing shades. L4M3!!!!"
Sigh.
Just watch the damn film and enjoy it.

Not possible. Each of Neo's predecessors led a team of 14 or so to rebuild Xion. Not doing so would, as the architect said, have resulted in the cataclysmic destruction of the entire human race.
You could argue that it may be possible for The One to re-enter The Matrix, following the recreation of Xion, but is the version not re-written each time? This may mean that The One can no longer enter the Matrix, for they have never existed there or cannot understand it.
Besides - we're told The Merovingian is a programmer, which is proved, and if he was powerful enough to be The One, why not take on Neo?

Doesn't the Architect say "Though the transport process has altered your state of consciousness, you remain irrevicably human. Ergo some of my answers you will understand, and some of them you will not."
I think he was merely underlining the fact that Neo remained 'only human'.

Nah, it's too obvious and will lead to FAR too many complications. It's the first idea everyone gets after Reloaded but, in retrospect, the most ridiculous.

I think that the connection between Neo and Smith enabled a connection between the machines and Neo (he could control them), and Smith and the real world (he overpowered someone's body).
