Which album(s) have you bought expecting to love... only to find out thatthe lasest STEPS album would provide more entertaiment...

And which albums did you buy... and love soo much you had it on continual repeat play for the rest of the year?

And Finally... which albums have you bought... and then the next day/week/month have had a really hard time understanding why it appeaked to you in the first place?

Any NSync pruchases? stutter-rap? star-trekking? the Birdy song?...

Yeah, NME are a bit two faced. I suppose because they have lots of people reviewing stuff that their views clash. They do tend to just rehash whatever the public opinion is though. I've stopped buying it too, my £1.10 is better off elsewhere.

One day a few years ago I bought 2 CD's Ash's 1977, and Sleeper's The It Girl.

I still listen to Ash, they're great. But Sleeper? I still question just why I bought it, and think that the £1.50 I got for selling it was a much better deal than having to keep it in my CD collection.

In terms of CDs I thought I'd love, the Super Furry Animals Mwng CD. I've struggled to really get into it, and just cannot enjoy it on the same level as their other fabulous albums.

Mansun Little Kix. I bought this in a sale recently, and it was way better than I expected. It received rough press reviews, but I guess I'm lucky that I don't pay much attention to NME's build 'em up to knock 'em down ways any more.

I bought the first 2 Stereophonics albums because they were all the rage at the time. Then I went to see them and realised that they dalendless shids. I might as well have stayed at home and listened to the CD's, because they were that boring. Then I grew to despise them because all the songs seem to revolve around the same chord sequences - I, IV, V and resolve. And now they've got a new album that sounds more or less like the other two! When is the UK music scene going to wake up and realise there are bands about like MUSE! Muse rock big time. I haven't stopped listening to Showbiz since I got it - it's so good. It's like punk/acoustic rock/rock/indie, but with really good tunes. It's one of those albums where every song could be a single, but they're all completely different. It's original and a total adrenalin rush, but it brings you down in just the right places and then takes you back up. They combine the complexity of Radiohead with the happy tunes of Supergrass and they ROCK YOUR FAMILY!! My most embarrasing buy would have to be Hanson MMMBop. Yes, I helped it get to number one as well. I'm really sorry, but I made up for it by smashing it and then keeping it so I can prove to everyone who sees it in my CD rack that it can't be listened to.
