Why do we all cheat when we play a game whether it be very difficult or easy. It completely ruins the aspect of 'fun' and 'challenge' in the game unless you've completed before and are just looking for some extra entertainment out of it.
I prefer games where you can't actually cheat(eg. any of the 'Might and Magic' games)
Does anybody actually remember those games cause i never hear anthing about them.
Anyway, I myself am not afraid to say that I have cheated
in some games and probably will in the near future cause well I'm sad. But then again not all of us cheat, there are many gamers out there who are amazing at games and they're like dedicated winners while the rest of us are maybe just a bunch of 'average' gamers. We cheat to survive.
But no matter our kind will evolve from cheating and witness the fun and glory that comes from not cheating.
We have to be dedicated or otherwise this massive black hole of cheating will suck us all in.

Cheating is OK, but only as a last resort!

Cheating doesn't bother me depending upon what game's being 'fixed'. If it involves more than just yourself playing, cheating is a horrendous thing to do. [I, for instance, can't stand the people who use Speed Cheats on Counter-Strike. It's like, "Um...okay, aren't you so skilled? You're able to run 5x faster than me and you think that makes you the Big Bad?" Same goes for any multiplayer game, IMO. Cheating just ruins it.

On single-player games, have at it. I typically just quit a game if it's ticking me off; I can't even remember the last time I actually 'cheated' on a game. Must've been back in the original Game Genie days. Ugh. The fact that I don't cheat is actually the reason why my guild on Asheron's Call was getting its butt handed to it by another. They'd cheated, maximized their levels to a point that you CAN'T without cheating, and yet seemed to think it was remarkable that we couldn't take them down. This, of course, led me to quit the thing yesterday.

I hadn't been playing long - maybe two months or so - but I was doing rather well, only to have those punks ruin it all.

I don't mind people who cheat on games if they don't brag about how good they are or compare them selves to people who have actually ACHIEVED the same level. I must admit that cheats add to the longevity of a game. When all is lost and you can't be bothered to play a game, or you've finnished it you can spend one last hour or so mucking about with the cheat options.

You don't need to cheat if you don't want to, some games don';t let you anyway until you complete some stuff, but cheat cartridges aren't very good.

If somebody wants to cheat, that's their choice. The option is there, and you may or may not think it's acceptable to use it. Perhaps you want to use cheats to speed up a labourious process, or experiment with the limits of the gmae. There's no reason why you shouldn't do it. If you're playing a game purely for the challenge, then yes, cheating defeats the object. If on the other hand you enjoy playing the game either way, then who are you cheating?

If you enjoy using the cheats, fine - use them. Entertainment is what games are about.

As long as you avoid the invincability and level select cheats which ruins games then youll be OK!

If I've been playing a game for a while... and I've either gotten to an area I REALLY cant get passed... or I've had the game on my harddrive for a while, but havnt played it, and know that I'll never pick it up and get into it agiin... then I'll cheat...

I find that stickking some puzzels/levels out stops some games from being as much fun as they could be?
