Anybody know if a regular dvd player (as in not top spec or anything) can play avi files or would i have to convert them to mpeg files?

i got a daewoo s9000 the last day (for only €60) cause my ps2 was gettin on my nerves.
recommend any particular converter programs? im gettin one at the mo., WINMPG_converter or something but im in college so i cant try them out for awhile.

Afraid not, it only plays divx and mpg-4.

In short, you will have to convert them to mpeg first. But there are relatively cheap DVD players out now that can play AVI files.
