Well well...so certain Neo-Conservatives are not, in fact, patriots who want the best for the US. They're just unpleasant little fundamentalists who stamp their feet spit their dummies when someone DARES disagree with them. Try as I might, I can't even begin to be surprised.

MI6 50 Years Of Special Operations by Stephen Dorril

Apparently he's a lecturer (at somewhere I can't remember right now) and other stuff, so it's not one of these kinds of books where it's all inaccurate e.t.c. I've got the paperback version.

Title?

Might give it a look, if I get through most of my current backlog...

Reading a book on MI6's history at the moment, it has equally horrifying moments and blunders.

Such as promoting Kim Philby to be the person in charge of anti-soviet/anti-communist operations.

Such as "lets doctor the intelligence estimates about the USSR so they appear more of a threat than they are".

Plus the fact that MI6 didn't quite seem to comprehend the days of the British Empire were gone.

And this is just Chapter 2.

Yet another black mark in America's history, I think.

The more I learn, the harder it is to understand why nobody does anything.

But what can be done?

Indeed, though unless I read the article wrong (possible, I admit) if Novac can prove the CIA fed false information to him then it's not actually clear who is responsible.
