Quite basic really.
I've been reading about how all these newspapers and magazines manage to find paedos lurking in chat rooms within minutes of entering.
Well...
Here's the game.
You've got to find a 'peedo!'
I was bored and decided to go into a Yahoo chat room with the username lizzylizzy123 and all I could find was stupid American kids, I think the papers are lying...
I'm gonna leave you on your mission now, plus I may have a potential one talking to me now. I'll post back in a minute.
WAIT! New message!
sergio_italia2001: Hi..male here..45 y.o...italian..im looking for a girl with cam.
lizzylizzy123: im 12
hehe, he's gone... no wait, he's back, he's just posted a smiley face...
This is scaring me now...

You want to think about that for a second. They can and do.

But there's a domino effect, you nab a small guy at the bottom who leads one step up the chain. He then leads up another step up etc etc. This is why courts are allowed to offer more lenient sentences to guys who help.

I didn't want to appear as a 'spammer' so I cut out a bit of that PM.
Anyway, that made me laugh out loud. Haha, I actually think that's a genuine 14 year old. Or a 50 year old bloke who has studied boys well.
And Dr Gonzo, I wasn't saying the police could not pose as kids, just that they can't intentionally seek out people. I know stuff all about this topic but I'd wager a guess that the truly most dangerous people aren't the ones likely to be caught signing up their credit card details or falling for fake people. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm not.
> Sadly there's this little law called entrapment.
It's also one of the most ridiculously complex evidential rules and wouldn't bar the police from catching people through posing as kids on the internet (which they've done successfully before). Far more efficient way they've used is setting up dodgy looking pay sites and then following the credit card details right to their front door.
Some of them had brought confused and frightened kids with them.
The Daily Mail will have a double-page spread tomorrow, right after the "INTERNET STEALS YOUR KIDS!!" story and just before the "All darkies are thieving gypsies"
Can't you just go read a book or something?
