What is so good about a game when the story is to beat up people, how original is that?
I just can't see why some people are so obsessed that they go out and buy a Playstation 2 just for the GTA games. It is just an excuse for an obscene amount of violence, I don't care but I think it is over the top. It is hardly surprising that video games get such a bad reputation of being "unethical" with games like this around
I am not someone who minds about violence in video games but you have to be really sick/twisted to appreciate setting a cat on fire while feeding it (Courtesy of Postal 2). It is just a bit sad that developers can make games that rely soley on violence that ACTUALLY impress the public. It may not be the general opinion of the "public eye" but I just do not see the appeal of these games. I am not lecturing fans of the series(s) only asking what do people find so fascinating?
Postal 2 is just tto sick for me with the puke/blood effects. i have played GTA3 and GTA:Vice City at my mates house and it was good, but I can't imagine spending by hard earned cash to go out and actually buy it.It was quite fun only I really wouldn't buy a Playstation 2 just for this series as it is just too boring/similar.
Also all the missions on GTA 3 seem to feature some explicit thing or beating up some random person. It isn't my PERSONAL taste. There are some exceptions, though , with that remote controlled car mission thing and some "insane stunt bonuses".
They are not expensive, which I suppose is a kind of a lure. GTA3, GTA:Vice City and Postal 2 are hugely popular but this could be an element of sheep, following the crowd or looking cool.
Postal 2 isn't funny to me but some people seem to find this "adult" humour very amusing.
Anyway, not to preach or change your' opinion, just wanted to know what you like/hate about them and if they appeal to your taste(s)
It is, if you'd actually played it, a very clever game indeed. The comedy and humour throughout it is extremely well thought out.
And, as Running With Scissors, Postal 2's developers, said, it's only a game. It's not real life.
"...Postal 2 are hugely popular but this could be an element of sheep, following the crowd or looking cool"
So why did *you* buy it then? If you knew what it was about, and knew you disliked this particular genre, why buy it?
Ok, maybe you didn't buy it.
But in that case, how can you make these claims?
And don't say you borrowed it or something, because you could easily have just given it back when you didn't like it.
> If it is so good, why are you putting it on e-bay?
Because I have the UK copy too.
GTA games are fine, as the limit is really jus**t shotting people. Nothing that you don't see in a FPS...
Pos**tal 2 however seems to take it too far. The developers are jus**t cashing in on little kids thinking, "Oooooh, lets get it..."
Sad.
Diiiiiiisguuusting!
It does relieve stress though.
