And this is true. In the department at Uni there are quite a few Koreans and Japanese, and they NEVER smile, say thank you when opening doors or anything remotely regarded as etiquette. I'm glad I've been brought up here now.

I never thought of it before, but the few Japanese friends I have are rather moody.

They don't have to smile - a lot of em could karate or taekwondo yer ass into sausage meat ;D
