I'm not sure if this is because I'm playing PC games, which, often involving investing a greater deal of time to get to grips with initially, mean I'm more willing to hack things through, or because I'm getting older and am willing to spend mopre time on a game before I move onto the next? ...
Whatever the reason, I've started to noticed that some games have fantastic animated end games FMV sequences, and others bring display 'THE END' and move straight onto the credits...
Some games suit a Game Over message... e.g. Mario Kart but with others I often feel a touch ripped off that I spent so much time oing through the game only to be fobed off and the end...
To be fair though, most people wont have stuck around long enough to finish the title...
What makes a good end of game?
Is it an FMV showing all the cast patting each other on the back, with a congratualtions message and some pixcel fireworks...
Should there be a more complex animated exit...
of should all the time be invested into the gameplay and should defeating the final boss be nuff said?
or what?
To me, adding new content is definitely a sound way to congratulate a gamer on playing the game through to the end. As for the style it should use? FMVs are fine, I guess, though I've personally gotten to where I play games without an easily defined END.

Well....?!
The Game
FMV = Full Motion Video
("Hey!" Grix said... "I was playing!")
("But I want to interupt you, stop the action, and generally make a knob of myself by pretending that I'm actually running off the hardware." FMV repiled.)
(They haven't spoken since.)
Well....?!
The Game
